Dr. Joseph is a writer, semi-retired pastor, retired seminary professor, and ongoing teacher of God’s Word. He has earned graduate degrees from Wake Forest University, Hood Theological Seminary, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His earlier books include:
The Ultimate Victory: Becoming a Follower of Jesus and Victory in Jesus: Being a Child of God were all written to help everyone know God and His desire for all to join His Holy family, which is the Crown Jewel of God’s Creation. This is accomplished by becoming a child of God and following Jesus right into the promised Land, the New Heaven and New Earth.
His sixth and seventh books, The Ultimate Victory: Becoming a Follower of Jesus, Updated ed. has been republished this year in a 3rd ed., and Unity and Obedient Discipleship in the Gospel of John, 2nd ed., continue this line of thought helping people know God, His Creation, and our place in His Creation more fully.
Please see the write-ups for each on the next two web pages. Note that Unity and Obedient Discipleship in the Gospel of John is an in-depth study companion to The Ultimate Victory, chapter 5, focusing on how someone in the first-century Mediterranean world would have understood Jesus’ message as recorded in the Gospel of John regarding the close intimacy within God’s eternal loving righteous (holy) family.
Why should someone read Dr. Joseph’s books including his latest, The Ultimate Victory: Becoming a Follower of Jesus, instead of other books written by better known authors?

“In today’s world, many people view the Christian religion as a set of rituals to be followed to gain God’s approval. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Ultimate Victory shares the reality that the Christian lifestyle should be an ongoing relationship with God as one joyfully follows Jesus due to His great love for all. Everyone who would like to know God better and improve their relationship with Him will find this book extremely helpful."
Dr. Cecil R. Cave, Jr.
“It is clear as one reads The Ultimate Victory: Becoming a Follower of Jesus that Dr. Joseph has a passion to see individuals come to know God and become obedient disciples of Jesus. He has masterfully and scholarly written a book to help individuals become more effective followers of Jesus. Throughout all of his work, Brother James has shown himself to be one of the more prolific authors on discipleship, and His present book will help equip Jesus’ followers for victory in the effort to bring the Gospel to a lost humanity faced with the decision of choosing good over evil.”
